Cheese - Journey to conquer Vietnamese people
In the past, cheese only appeared in luxury, high-class dishes, associated with Western culture. When France established its government in Vietnam in 1860, due to the need for food, French colonists transported food and livestock from Europe and produced the first batches of cheese.
Due to the unfavorable climate, cheese supply was scarce, so it was only for the French. When World War I broke out, the French army captured two large warehouses in Germany containing a large quantity of cheese. Thanks to that, cheese became popular and the Vietnamese had the opportunity to enjoy it with long bread and bacon. Later, the French company Fromageries Bel invested in Vietnam, meeting the people's demand for cheese and dominating the market.
Cheese is gradually becoming more popular, favored for its rich, delicious flavor and the ability to combine with many different ingredients. Not only appearing in European dishes, cheese is also transformed by Vietnamese people, combined with many traditional dishes and processed into extremely attractive cheese sauce.
