We are the Administration - Human Resources Department, not "administrative"
The name sounds like that, but the work at Dh Foods is very diverse:
Not only recruiting the right people, but also building the image of a professional working environment for Dh Foods company.
Instructions to help new employees not get lost on their first day at work.
Taking care of everything from tables and chairs, air conditioning, to meals, hours, etc. as long as employees don't have to "fend for themselves".
Drafting documents, making decisions, stamping, signing all kinds of papers, if one is missing, no one can… do anything.
Handle questions about salary, insurance, personal income tax, etc. and explain 100 times with the same gentle voice.
Organize internal events, team building, year-end party, mid-autumn festival, March 8, etc. to ensure no one feels left out.
Conduct satisfaction surveys, read each comment line by line to know how to “adjust from the inside out”.
Printing cards, making company emails, providing computers, resetting passwords, ordering food and drinks, etc. are not listed in JD, but without them, you will be in chaos immediately.
Also answers seemingly simple but not so simple questions:
"Ms. Ha, how many months have you paid social insurance?"
"Ms. Huyen, our office is out of snacks."
“Ms. Vy, I can't connect my laptop to the conference room TV and I'm about to meet with a partner.”
From morning to evening, HR receives all kinds of questions. Some are complicated, some are simple, some are fun, some are stressful. But almost always there is a kind answer with a smile on the face.
“That’s what HR is like,” said a woman in the team. “Everyone thinks we sit at the computer and work with files. That’s true, but not enough. The main job of HR is to... take care of people.”
Both an "administrative manager" and an "emotional specialist"
We not only work with people, but also manage the emotions that come with it.
- Every time we organize a team building, we quietly take care of everyone's food, sleep, and entertainment, only to worry about sick leave after the trip because someone played too enthusiastically.
- Once after the salary was distributed, a friend responded “why is this month different from last month” – but in fact it was because he changed the number of dependents. So the team member had to sit down and discuss the personal income tax regulations again, but very gently supported and without any irritation.
- Another time after sending the phone recharge code, a friend texted: “Sis, I made an error while recharging.” The team immediately responded: “Please check again and let me know.” A moment later, the friend texted back: “Oh, I mistakenly reloaded the code from last month.” So, instead of being confused, we had another reason to smile at the beginning of the week.
Maybe not many people notice, but we know, it is those little things that keep people together for a long time. Because for us, “expertise” does not lie in any HR software, but in: How to make each person feel that they are not just an employee code in the system, but a real, named, emotional part of this collective.
Not on the front line, but always a solid rear
- HR is not a team that runs product promotion campaigns.
- No market, no production line.
- Does not directly generate revenue.
But imagine a day without staff:
- No one cares about the probationary contract,
- No one calculates insurance,
- No one made a request for permission,
- No one remembers today is happy time to relax together
And there are many “no’s”, the company still operates, but it certainly won’t be itself.
At Dh Foods, Human Resources also has KPIs but they are…
How many employees smile when they walk into the office.
How many opinions are heard and responded to.
How many people feel like they belong to something.
All departments are outward-facing, working to retain customers. The HR team at Dh Foods is inward-facing, to retain employees.
“Actually, the HR team is also happy to stand behind.”
Happy - when a new employee joins, send a thank you message for being welcomed well.
Fun - when the Gala night ended smoothly, everyone laughed and joked happily and even made plans to go round 2 or 3 to have a great time.
Fun - when every time feedback is collected, someone writes: "BTC is great, 10 points without any buts".
Just little joys, but enough to make a tiring day meaningful.
Someone asked: "Why don't you like the spotlight when you work in HR?" - Ms. Vy smiled and said: "Because we know, this job doesn't need to be seen by everyone, just making others feel secure, that's enough."
Or every time someone turns around and says, “Hey, thanks for helping me with that the other day.” We know, “It’s okay, if you need anything, just text me.”
“Working with people requires patience. But when it works, I feel so sorry for them.” – The team leader shared.
Whispers from the Human Resources Department
And we believe that at Dh Foods, connection does not come naturally. It starts with people like that. Every little thing, every greeting, every message and email, if you feel the office atmosphere is always “just right”… Then maybe the Administration – Human Resources department has contributed to that. Quietly…but enough.
The HR Administration Team at Dh Foods are not good at telling stories, but are the ones who keep the common story going.
